我国科学家创造密集编码量子通信信道容量新纪录

量子密集编码是最重要的量子保密通信过程之一。衡量密集编码的重要指标是信道容量,即A向B发送一个光子所能传输的比特数。基于二维纠缠的比特系统中,量子密集编码的信道容量极限为2。时至2008年有科学家利用超纠缠技术,将量子密集编码的信道容量由最初的1.13提升到1.63。又经过10多年努力,至2017年,基于完全的贝尔基测量,这一纪录才被更新为1.665。

   
近期,在国家重点研发计划量子调控与量子信息重点专项项目“固态量子存储器”的支持下,中国科学技术大学李传锋团队在自主研制的高品质三维纠缠源的基础上,进一步制备出偏振-路径复合的四维纠缠源,保真度达到98%。利用这种四维纠缠源首次成功识别了五类贝尔态,并实验演示了量子密集编码,一举把量子密集编码的信道容量纪录提升到了2.09,超过了两维纠缠能达到的理论极限,创造了当前国际最高水平。这项工作充分展示了高维纠缠在量子通信中的优势,为高维纠缠在量子信息领域的深入研究打下重要基础。该成果于7月20日发表在国际权威期刊《科学·进展》上。
